As we come to the end of the school year, we wanted to thank everyone for the fantastic support they’ve shown the PTA during the 19/20 academic year. No one could have imagined we’d end the term in this way but our plans for a summer fair will just have to wait for 2021!
This year has seen a tremendous effort in fundraising, ranging from the sale of Christmas cards, school disco’s, Bake for Books and our first ever Winter Fair. Thanks to you all we have raised over £8,500 to support the school.
This total includes just over £1,400 in match funding that some parents have managed to source through their employers. This is just one way we are trying to make the money raised go further – so once again, thank you.!
As we promised this money has been steadily going back into the school to support them with resources for classrooms, as well as purchasing photographic equipment for future projects, gifts for each classroom during Christmas celebrations and sports
equipment for the playground.
It was not all about school as we supported children who wanted to raise money for animals displaced during the wildfires in Australia. Thanks to fantastic teamwork amongst the organising pupils and support from Marlborough families over £1,300 was raised for Aussie Ark.
A FOND FAREWELL TO OUR YEAR 6’S
We’ve loved seeing the pictures of current year 6 pupils in their hoodies. A huge thank you to Justine, Zev’s mum, and Sam in the office – without you we wouldn’t have been able to deliver the hoodies. We’ve seen a few around Penylan and Roath already and are looking forward to seeing more.
We wish all pupils the very best of luck as they head into a new chapter!
Getting prepared for September
We’re busy planning for September and thinking about how we continue the great work and fundraising. We’re currently looking at establishing a PTA 100 Club, running another a Winter Fair and carrying out virtual fundraising.
