Dear Marlborough families,
As we reach the mid point of the school year, (yes, doesn’t time go too quickly!!) we welcome the opportunity to share the progress of our pupils with you during the upcoming parents’ evening meetings. Strong positive relationships with you is integral to our high levels of achievement and to the success of our school as a whole. So with February being the month of love, a heartfelt thank you to all of our wonderful families who support the school by attending concerts and assemblies, volunteering in class, volunteering on trips, leading after school clubs, listening to readers, supporting school events, helping us fund raise … We are so very lucky to have such amazing support from you all and this is one of the major factors in making Marlborough such a wonderful place to learn and work.

Huge Hearts
We are so very lucky to have children with such a strong social conscious at Marlborough; always thinking about what they can do to help others and make the world a better place. Two recent examples of this are Gabe and Sophie.
Oh, that is just incredible Gabe. What a kind, thoughtful and inspirational boy. https://t.co/7eU9MNTjzv

Welsh Music Day
Thank you to everyone who supported Welsh Music Day last Friday, what a wonderful way to celebrate our national culture together.
Welsh Week and Eisteddfod
The week after half term is Welsh Week. Thank you to Criw Cymraeg who voted for this year’s theme of the Six nations Rugby Tournament. Pupils are invited to enter the musician, singing and poetry competitions. The week will culminate with a special Eisteddfod with the highlight being the Chairing of the Bard.
Wellbeing
This month’s staff wellbeing theme is Forgiveness-‘Forgiveness February’. As a whole school we have been working hard to know ourselves better and to understand and develop our individual character strengths. In February have chosen to explore our character strength of forgiveness. Forgiveness means different things to different people. Generally, however, it involves a decision to ‘let it go’. The act of forgiveness has been linked to more positive mental health, a better sense of well being and improved health and peace of mind. We can’t wait to “let it go, let it go ...”
Mars – borough
The week beginning 2nd March will see the launch of our new whole school topic Mars -borough. The staff have been very busy behind the scenes planning a very exciting immersion day. The children are invited to come to school dressed as scientists, astronauts, aliens, space travellers …. This topic is going to take us to infinity and beyond (but we hope to be back by home time)!
