Name: Sally Hodges
Role: Assistant Headteacher
I started teaching in 1990 in Gloucestershire where I later became Assistant Headteacher at Abbeymead Primary School. I moved to Brighton in 2002 and then back to my home town, Cardiff, in 2005, where I soon secured a post at Marlborough. I became Assistant Head in 2018. My current strategic role is Leader of Innovation in Teaching and Learning.
I love living in Cardiff as it’s such a culturally diverse city with beautiful mountains and beaches close by. I have 4 children of my own at various stages of education, 3 of which are in high school. I enjoy reading, cooking, films, photography and spending time with family and friends. I love to visit beaches in all seasons and collect weathered sea glass with my family. My favourite pastimes are travelling to new places and learning new things.
I love to be by the sea in all weathers, particularly in Wales, (Aberaeron).
I have very varied and eclectic taste in music from the Beatles and Fatboy Slim to sea shanties by Fisherman’s Friend.
I love Italian food.
My top character strength is kindness.
These are a few of my favourite things …
